Therapy Services

Traditional Individual Therapy

Weekly or biweekly sessions focused on helping you reduce anxiety, improve mood, and strengthen coping skills.
We use an integrative approach combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions.

Individual therapy is ideal if you want ongoing support for managing intrusive thoughts, regulating emotions, or breaking free from cycles of avoidance and perfectionism.

Therapy Intensives

Therapy intensives offer focused, accelerated progress for clients ready to make meaningful change in a shorter period of time. These sessions are longer and more structured than traditional therapy, allowing for deep exploration, targeted exposure work, and integration of new skills.

Intensives are especially effective for OCD treatment (ERP), phobias, and panic disorder.

Out-of-Network Provider: What That Means

(and Why It’s Worth It)

RIT Psychology is an out-of-network provider, meaning we don’t directly accept insurance. Instead, clients pay for sessions upfront and can request reimbursement from their insurance company using a “superbill” (a detailed receipt of services).

While this model can seem confusing at first, it actually offers several key benefits:

  • Freedom and Flexibility: You’re not limited by insurance restrictions on session length, frequency, or treatment methods.

  • Personalized Care: Your therapy plan is guided by your needs, not insurance billing codes.

  • Privacy and Confidentiality: Out-of-network care protects your sensitive mental health information from being shared with insurance companies.

  • Direct Access to Specialty Care: Many insurance panels don’t include highly trained specialists in ERP or OCD therapy. Out-of-network care ensures you get the expertise you deserve.

If you’d like to use your insurance benefits, here’s a simple step-by-step guide:

  1. Call Your Insurance Company
Ask: “What is my reimbursement rate for out-of-network mental health services with a licensed psychologist?”

  2. Request a Superbill from RIT Psychology
At the end of the month, we’ll provide a superbill with the necessary details for reimbursement.

  3. Submit the Claim
Upload or mail your superbill to your insurance provider. Many clients receive partial reimbursement within a few weeks.

  4. Use HSA or FSA Funds
You can also pay for therapy using Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds.
